Ostrich finds freedom not in clouds
But where the endless grasslands sway
Possess only two toes and large eyes

Instead their powerful legs loudly proclaim
The dusty desert tracks as their rightful realm
Its massive wings steer every sweeping turn
That the earth itself can satisfy and sustain.
Each powerful stride devours the dusty miles
Racing through the wild with golden smiles
With giant eyes that scan the savanna wide
Keen senses serve as their ultimate guide
Spotting the shadows, conquering every fear
Long before any hidden danger draws near.
Upon the sand, it guards precious eggs
Standing tall on its fast and powerful legs
As life begins to warm inside the nest
Indeed for parenthood, it knows little rest
There is a popular myth, so stark and wide
That out of fear, their heads in sand they hide.
It’s a defensive posturing…
To blend with earth, it drops its head from sight
Then flees the foe or kicks with a deadly might.
