My Humming Word

  1. Poem

The Ocean Sovereign

In coats of sapphire grey, a colossus of the deep
Moves under water, as secrets of the ages sleep.
None of the land-born souls can match its girth
For ages, it is the greatest pulse upon the earth.

The blue whale swims the ocean whole day long
With a tail so wide and body so large and strong
It’s tongue alone weighs as much as an elephant
And with heart as big as a car, tough and elegant.

Body huge upto 30 metres yet sleek, mottled grey
Dives down deep to turn blue in the ocean’s spray
The mammal contains baleen plates, instead teeth
It swims with grace and filters life from far beneath.

Heartbeat like a drumroll, a song that spans the sea
In wild and vast majesty, the largest soul to breathe
In a sunless kingdom where the silent shadows play
In its metrical motion, the world’s great wonders stay.
