My Humming Word

Sentinels of Frozen South

Underneath a sky of silver and shifting blue
Penguins stand as icons of the absolute ice
Survive on a land where nothing grows
As there is nothing but snow that seldom melts
They glide through the crystals of frozen white
With their rhythmic sway and dance with pride.

The wizards of a flightless dance of persistence
With feathers locked like armour against the gale
In deeply frozen realm where icy currents flow
It braves the gales treading past drifting snow
With rhythmic moves, it treks across the shelf
For the sake of flock and chick, unmindful of self
They turn the frozen void into a home of shared
And find their way home by primal instinct guided.
