My Humming Word

The Eternal Canopy

Heart-shaped leaves catch the passing breeze
A gentle whisper stirs the emperor of trees
Each pointed tip channels the raindrop’s trace
While quiet shadows fill the peaceful space.

Underneath its vast and fine-textured canopy
A quiet, soothing shelter spreads out completely
It offers a vibrant sanctuary, green and wide
Where both birds and weary travellers can abide.

For generations past, its roots have been bound
The ancient soil where Vedic hymns resound
A living shrine in itself with holy threads entwine
The mighty Peepul tree holds the breath divine.

From bark and leaf, a soothing balm is pressed
To heal the body; and give calm to soul and mind
The mighty Peepal stands serene and sublime
Like a guardian spirit through the mists of time.
