My Humming Word

  1. Poem

The Lemur of Madagascar

Upon Madagascar’s forests green and wide
The nimble lemur leaps from tree to tree
Ancient primates’ kin but charted a separate line
In the family tree, the lemur’s eyes still shine

Its bright round eyes adorn a gentle face
With grasping hands it moves with elegant grace
Long tail that balances every agile bound
Through the leafy canopies without a sound.

Be it day or night, in lively groups it plays
Its keen adaptation marks its forest ways
Communicates well through scent, call and stare
A marvel of nature shaped by evolution’s care.

New young are born and nurtured each year
It’s a rare and ancient wonder we hold so dear.
