My Humming Word

A Tale Frozen in Time

In the whispered winds, a subtle saga unfolds
Tender hearts entwined, in love’s gentle holds
Umpteen silent gazes, myriad unspoken words
Destiny’s cruel twist & turn, birds flew un-paired.

Nuptial knot tied and moved on, hearts retained
Untold yearning and heartache, only fragile bond
Worlds apart, a chasm unfathomably so deep
But memories stayed, with ethereal love to keep.

Echoes from bygone days continued to resonate
Letters flew, only witnesses to their bridge of trust..
A friendship bloomed & waned, love’s embers rust
Years went by, leaving both life’s storms to confront.

At a point of time, virtually on the brink of collapse…
But revived and rose like a phoenix in tapestry of life
With the time, a fair and equitable place he secured
Yet the love and friendship’s void remained unplaced.

Over a quarter century was thus endured in silence
By a mere serendipity once, he caught her glimpse
In an online coup d’oeil, her facade was so luminous
Maybe surreal illusion, he sensed gloom’s shadows.

Induced by grave concern, he reached out unsure
Her response remained but cold, a polite austere
An enigma unresoved, bewilderment far and wide..
Is this end of a friendship, or fondness unrequited?

At times, a soul is trapped in inner demons’ design
Relationships fade, love and friendship lose shine
Or just wary or guarded, he or she put heart on ice
In such an impasse, one is left to wait and endure.

In dreams and reveries, he visualises her smiles
Those fleeting glimpses and intertwined memories
He so often contemplates, if she still cares for him
A question echoes time and again in heart’s realm.

The trials and tribulations in life made him wise
As the twilight years unfold, and seasons change
He’ll wait and watch through the life’s haze
Hoping someday, the quintessential truth will amaze.

Past baggage, no hankering for friendship or love
Verily desireless, it’s pure soulful affection and care
Maybe someday, the two paths might merge…
Life’s frozen chapters would eventually converge.
