The Ghost of Mountains

At heights where the air is thin and cold
The Ghost of Mountains, brave and bold
Himalayan frost is favourite of the canine
Also thrive through alpine and sub-alpine.

With s coat of smoke and charcoal rings
While perched above where eagles wing
With paws like snowshoes, wide and deep
It’s capable of navigating the crags steep.

It cannot roar but growls across the land
A quiet and sanguine king on rock & sand
Its long, thick tail serves a balancing wand
And cream-grey fur to get it camouflaged.

Nicknamed ‘ghosts’ b’coz incredibly elusive
Remaining invisible to eyes until they move
Snow leopard is like a silver shadow in light
The smart canine vanishes before the sight.
