My Humming Word

Memories haunt him, like autumn’s stealthy creep
Whispers in the nights of what way back did seep
Alone in a shipwreck, he on nostalgia’s tidal wave
Shadows drowning in the blues like a lonely grave.

Many faded photographs, letters like fallen leaves
Echoes of bygone days, rustling what he believes
He keeps brooding in twilight, shadows intertwine
Drowned in nostalgic labyrinth, the blues entwine.

What his heart knows but the lips wouldn’t let fall
Dreams unfulfilled, like streams that seldom reveal
Eternal yearning’s requiem, the lonely heart’s elegy
Haunting him like a phantom’s monochrome legacy.

Bittersweet existential tang, aware yet can’t untwine
As he’s tethered to the past, in sorrow’s endless pain
The best friend’s loss, a wound that time won’t mend
Existence hides in shadows, while memories pretend.
