As early picks during life
While still a young teenager
From my ancestral rose garden
Two beautiful roses I picked
That remained ever undelivered
One was yellow and the other red
One was for my best ever friend
The other for someone I truly loved
Destiny had different design, however.
Ever since a lifetime has passed
Whenever I open my scrapbook
To peek into my reminiscences
I find those not so lucky roses
Still tagged, giving me a reminder
Once so fresh and bright petals
Now dried with a faded luster
Narrate their own saga of sort
Then remorseful I wonder, like me
Their fate too is sealed, forever.
