My Humming Word

Editor’s Choice

Now that the life is going downhill
We don’t know when it might end
In fact, every soul has to go in a span
Who knows when the curtain is drawn
After all the temporal life’s so ephemeral.
When the eternity remains so uncertain
Should we not reunite for now again
To become friends we were in a yore!

We start caring each other once again
As before, both in our joy and pain
If you look at it, only paths were different
Separation between two was just temporal.
While mind and soul stay close in unison
Should we not resume dialogue now again
To become friends we were in a yore!

I wonder when and how it happened
Howbeit whatever it was, I wish it hadn’t…
Something occurred, an ill-fated wall arose
It was end of the friendship, you surmised
While I was still standing at same plane
On the crossroads where we parted ways.
When it’s nothing but compulsion of ways
Should we not now converse again
To become friends we were in a yore!

For sure, there is no such trepidation
Of untoward recurrence or regression
Though separately yet we have lived it all
Our share of worldly pleasure and pain
With hardly any unmet mundane craving left.
Clouds getting dark; autumn of life on the anvil
Let’s try, let’s resume conversation again
And be friends we were once upon a time.
