With the passage of time
The love and longing for you
Subsided to a quite serene,
Silent and adoring passion…
Like a still and crystal clear water
Of a fathomless lake at dawn.
But as it occurs to any reservoir,
Even if the miniature pebble stone
Is thrown into a calm and still lake
It destabilizes and agitates water
Undulating waves rise for a while
That leave a perceptible impression
Before subsiding to a stand-still again.
Just like that from time to time
In my mundane and dreary life
In between usual worldly pursuits
Your memories haunt, and take
Upsurge like the colossal waves
Agitating the heart and mind
To raise a tsunami of emotions.
Moments shared with you
So cherished little things
With their minutest details
Sweet & sour reminiscences…
Feeble heart begins beating hard
And my mind gets befuddled
Next an agonized me
Feels like a confined avian.
If only I could make do
To break free from the cage…
Fly with you – as liberated souls
Across the blue and infinite sky
Forever and ever and ever
Till the eternity lasts…
In pure bliss and exaltation.
