We met way back in teens
Bodies were so youthful
And our hearts so pure
In the little time destiny gave us
We shared our sweet and sour
Affection and camaraderie
Before separation forever…
Ever since decades have passed
Seasons have come and gone
But our paths never crossed
We grew with time and age
We shared our space and time
With the people surrounding us
Skin is now turning dull and grey
With wrinkles spreading all over…
I often keep wondering
And brooding for days
What is this bond or thread
That grew during teenage
Between erstwhile teenagers
Which just refuses to wane
Or wither away with age, ever?
