My Humming Word

O, Dear Moon
In my childhood
You fascinated and charmed me
I was so eager to catch you
To own, play and chat forever
My mother, a wise woman,
She smiled with a reprimand
You can’t, you can’t catch moon
In fact, nobody can
She is there for light
For path and navigation
She is there for seasons
For ocean tides, and all…

O, Dear Moon
As a young teenager
One day realization came
Sometimes you descend on earth
To take a human body form
So divine, beautiful and serene
A case of love at first sight
As you enchanted and encouraged
When unable to restrain my urge,
In response to my wish
In a fateful rendezvous
You smiled, teased and waved
And eluded to the horizon
To create for greater illusion.

Your beauty, angelic aura
And a mystique demeanour
Remained an illusion in life
And enigma forever
A grown up adult, I agree
Mother was so true, as ever…
