Way back in the tender age
In a tryst with the destiny
He was blessed with joy of love
A pure, sweet and innocent love.
But in an impending dilemma
Of listening to heart or mind
Love or work, work or love
He had then chosen the mind.
A sort of matrimonial alliance,
Ever since he and his work
Savour and devour each other
Every day for prolonged hours.
In the balance time remaining
He lives with a regretful smile
In remembrance what he missed
During the life without his life.
