My Humming Word

  1. Poem

Stranded in The Grey

You pacified your heart and reached the shore
Leaving me stranded in the midstream roar
You found your peace and left the tide behind
Leaving a raging whirlwind storm in my mind.

The wise proclaim the storm will fade away
Yet shadows linger on, lengthening the grey
The world preaches its easy text, “move on”
But twilight stretches, mocking at the dawn.

Every night I sit over the judgment, torn apart
Both judge and convict with a fractured heart
I feign a smile to counterfeit the lasting strain
And wander onward, harbouring perpetual pain.

The roots once severed under the heavy clay
Can never ever blossom on a sunny day
And moving forward does not make me whole
While a silent guilt still haunts my tired soul.
