Lie

A lie is a lie, a dark and stark untruth
It cannot ever stand before the truth
Yet there is an age old popular saying
A lie travels halfway around the world
While truth tightens laces of its shoes.

Notwithstanding this, when someone
Prefers to repeat a lie time and again
It succeeds in creating doubt in minds
Of many people or else neutral & sane
And that’s the aim, the liar’s net gain.
