Status Quo

I wishfully yearned
And strived as well for
The true happiness in life
Having said that, but what
Actually came to my share 
Was an enduring sorrow
With a heartache for life…

As a consequence
Instead of getting overly 
Vexed or overwrought
I learnt to live the status quo
Telling my mind and heart
Okay, that’s also welcome 
And just about right for me.
