Today I received a call from
A close friend and well-wisher
Of bygone days from yesteryears
Essence of his calling me was
If I was healthy enough and enjoying
The lockdown forced by nature!
I did not disappoint him,
My response was as lively
As he knew me from yesteryears
That I seldom need time to adjust
Making peace with the unforeseen
Or whatever comes in life…
But life should return back
To normal and satisfying enough
For the millions who are vulnerable
And not robust enough to mitigate
Vagaries and hardships of lockdown
Now so posed by nature.
(This is in the context of Covid-19 disease due to which almost four billion human beings across the globe are facing lockdown and restrictions of various kinds; perhaps no other catastrophe of any kind has troubled mankind at this scale during the last many decades.)
