Let Army Be Spared of Dirty Politics

The other day, a news item on a television channel caught my attention. A gentleman called Partha Chatterjee (Tag: Social Scientist and Historian) recently wrote an article titled “In Kashmir, India is Witnessing its General Dyer Moment”, on a news portal namely ‘The Wire’ triggering a nation wide controversy. On perusal, the article indeed reflects […]

Bharat Mata – A Raising Controversy

There is a famous Hindi saying – Badnaam honge to naam na hoga! (Infamy too brings fame). Ironically, some politicians and celebrities in this country appear to religiously believe in this saying and periodically, and perhaps deliberately, indulge in controversial statements or sloganeering that will keep them topical and in the lime light. Besides, in […]

United Nations: A Failing Organization

United Nations has completed seventy years of its existence in 2015 ever since the organization was established on 24 October 1945 after World War II with a larger objective to prevent another such conflict in future. The chief objectives of this international organization were to foster international security, peace and cooperation, human rights, socio-economic development, […]

Kashmir: A Dangerous Drift

Recently, elections were held in 87 State assembly constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir in November/December, 2014. Just before the elections, the traditional alliance between the Indian National Congress (INC) and National Conference (NC) was broken and both the parties independently fought elections. The other serious contender parties this time in these elections were the Bhartiya […]
