Basant – The Spring

As if staging a comeback
Trees with sprouting shoots
Rainbow flowers in full bloom
Nature is regenerating
At its beautiful and bountiful best

So healthy and refreshing is
The cool morning breeze
So sweet and sublime smell,
Earth full of new life and hope
Spring has arrived…!

(While in parts of United States and North Europe the spring season commences in late March or early April, in India Basant or Vasant Panchmi (celebrated as a festival) is marked as 1st day of spring usually sometime in February.)
