What is great and extraordinary
In loving and romancing, someone
Only to break up after a while
For whatever mundane reasons…

But following this moving apart
If you still continue 
To yearn and love the person
That is the real test, and
A touchstone too, what is love!

Alas! This is one stark truth 
He narrates now with conviction
That he learnt only after losing
His best ever friend in life, and
One he truly loved and cared.
