My Humming Word

It has been fourteen years
Since I lost mother’s umbrella of
Unselfish love, affection and care
As also the only dependable soul
Whom I could always confide with
Life’s every success and failure
With the usual comfort and ease;
No sense of shame or guilt attached.

Your remembrance suddenly reminds
Ephemeral and fragile nature of life
That the time is fast catching up
May be about a decade from now
May be a little more or even so less
I shall be joining you mother again
In the realm of the ethereal world
To live ever together in content and bliss.
