My Humming Word

Over a span, during all these years
The temporal business is as usual
Musical notes remain all the same
Flowers ooze out same fragrance
And so remains the riot of colours
During the spring and fall seasons…

The easterly and westerly breezes
Carry on to alternate the same way
The dew drops in winter cling on to
The grass, twigs and leaves of trees
Colours of rainbow shine same way
Before and after the rains, in the sky…

Yet something is amiss, a real amiss
I continue to miss your enticing smile
I continue to yearn your musical voice
The notes of your heart-rending silence
Cause acute strain on my mind and soul…
This enduring silence is amiss, a lot amiss!
