Over a span of time
During a phase of life
We were friends,
Great friends indeed

The way it ended
I often wish it hadn’t
I still ponder in solitude
If only I could’ve salvaged

Nonetheless my friend
In case we ever meet again
We shall meet like friends we were
And not like when we weren’t we were.
