the sweet child next door
asked me today:
Uncle, why do you wear
only white and black
while you might look better
in a variety of colours…?
It has been ages
since I accepted
white and black
as part of my persona
with a reasonable grace
to live this life
with harmony and peace.
But how to satisfy
An eight year kid’s
innocuous and innocent curiosity
without making it complex
that white keeps me
sober and serene
and black is good
in camouflaging well
dark emotions and pain!
