It’s a season of greetings
And celebration
Emails, SMSs have replaced
Age old greeting cards
Though still preferred by few.
Night long parties
And sponsored programmes
Sober and wild
In houses, clubs, hotels and farms
Eat, drink and dance
Till fatigue overcomes
Their body and soul.
People make resolution
Set targets for self and others
Exchange gifts
With or without intentions.
In a few days then
Euphoria dies down
Things are back to usual routine
Targets and Resolution forgotten
And life goes on
As was it before
Only to repeat yet again
All of it and more
On the next New Year Eve.
But there are few
Who do not celebrate
No target or resolution ever made
Each beginning is a resolution
And each end a target
They simply do their bit
Accomplish and move on to next.
For them
‘Walk your Talk” is their Karma
And each passing day in life
A ‘New Year Eve’.
