I spent entire life
In causing a ruckus
By finding faults with
The character and conduct
Of people and institutions
In the environment.
The other day I did
An introspection of self
Only to find the truth
That I have far more
Faults, meanness and dirt
In my own mind and heart.
(It’s so prevalent in public life these days that people spend a lot of time and energy in finding faults with others to serve own vested interests and material gains. In the process, they tend to overlook the fact that the value and ethics they expect from others need to be also followed by themselves. Kabir wrote on this tendency of human beings centuries back.)
