Innocence

Rajnigandha,Polianthes tuberosa | Fragrant flowers, Fragrant garden, Garden bulbs

Rajnigandha
A night blooming plant
Nicknamed by some
“The fragrance of night”
I’m so emotionally attached,
A valued antiquity in my life.

She is pretty and cute
Her looks and demeanour
Often appear so analogous
To my reminiscent teenage past.
While in a cheerful mood
I inquired of her once
What she meant by Rajnigandha.
Her reply was simple and prompt…
Rajnigandha! It’s a ‘paan masala’
Of a famous brand.

Stupefied for a moment
What an antithesis!
But I recovered fast
Admiring her simplicity
And innocence.
May God bless her always!
Being straight and simple
At least makes one’s life
Less complicated,
Far more easy and happier.
