A night blooming plant

‘The fragrance of night’
I am so emotionally attached,
It’s an antiquity in my life.
She is a cute and pretty girl
Her looks and demeanour
Often remind me
Of my reminiscent boyhood past.
While in a cheerful mood
I asked her once
What she knew about Rajnigandha.
Her reply was simple and prompt…
Rajnigandha! It’s a ‘paan masala’
Of a famous brand.
Stupefied for a moment
What an antithesis!
But I recovered fast
And admired her simplicity
And innocence,
May God bless her.
Being simple and straight
At least makes life
Less complicated,
Far more easy and happier.
