Chameleon –
An innocent reptile
Changes its colours
For social signaling, and
Camouflages with surroundings
As a survival instinct
And protection from enemies…

The ingenious humans
Give a negative shade
To this natural instinct
Drawing out a simile for
Covert and deceitful overtures
Of man in furtherance of
Their selfish interests!
