My Humming Word

The autumn leaves are falling
It’s a season of fall colours
Pink, purple, yellow, orange and red
On thatched roofs, housetops and roads
What a spectacular sight around
Kids are gleeful and folks merriment
Birds and animals too are jubilant.

But the Moon is in the eternal blues
With premonition for what is in sight
A prolonged and painful winter’s might
Loads of the snow and frost on ground
On trees, houses, hill and lake around
Barren trees and deserted streets
No sign of life in those fateful nights.

Moon’s solitude at a zenith height
In those endless chilly and frosty nights
No lasting bliss or relief in foresight
O’ God! what a lonely Moon’s plight.
