In one of those hectic tours
I met this artisan
At only thirty five
He looked nearly beaten
Wrinkled face, sunken cheeks
And wispy frame
Hailing from a community
Not only marginalized
But also stigmatized
In a far flung countryside.
But glow on his face
His expression and tone
Rings confident
Devoid of that lament
His clansmen in vicinity have
He works daily for long hours
With a grit and resolve
To make his mark
As an accomplished artisan
Of a variety of bamboo products.
Apart from sustaining a family
He has to give good education
Better nutrition and healthcare
To his two young children
To secure a better future
Lest they end up with the same fate
Impressed, I salute his spirit
Every soul can take lesson
And should live with…
